Default Gas engineers?

Is one a gas engineer that can lend some advice?

Iv been accepted for an hnc in engineering at a local college but seen this ad in a local paper for this company

www.gpe-services.com

it says "No experience in gas, you can become quailfied withing 28 weeks (CAT 3)

What does this mean?, would it be worth it?, my college course is only 2 days a week full time so was thinking of using some of the student loan money for this course if it would open up more door in terms of a career as the engineering sector is going to be thin on the ground for a while (So iv been told)
