I use a modified L200 Warrior (03 plate) and it is a right giggle
So far I've done the following:
1.5" body lift
2.5" suspension lift
33" mud tyres
front winch
I had at one point bobtailed the tub but needed a standard size one again so swapped it with someone who wanted a bob tub. I had also converted it to coil springs at the rear and this gave me an extra couple of inches lift aswell, but had nothing but bother with the springs so went back to leaf springs which i modified and took 2 leafs out of each spring - Much nicer ride and better articulation (full travel now only limit is the damper lengths)
I'm also an emergency responder with the National 4x4 response network (Yorks Lincs group) so have a few goodies in the truck to use for that too

Re Landy prices - 'Proper' ones - Expensive. Discovery's cheap as fook.
I had a disco with a few sensible mods - went most places and right good fun

If in Doubt Flat Out...
I do it, love it, great technical driving, and if you can't work it out hit the loud pedal. My disco is spot on, on and off the road.

they are far from the best off roader to buy but when you can buy them for scrap money thrash them until they loose oil presure and break it / weigh it in for ya money back
you cant beat it not sure if i'm going to get another trip out of mine it's very close to scrap its only got rear wheel drive, oil light is on at idle and its missing on start up.

i'm tempted to get one and do very similar mods and use it as a daily, off roader and tow vehicle to tow a FORD for track 8)

Is it horrid on road with mudders? - Nah, it's not too bad, a bit of tyre roar and it breaks traction in the wet quite easy due to the nobbles but other than that not bad. Then on the motorway I don't go over 60 as it drinks like George Best and gazza at a brewery open day

Daryl - They are the same as the Mazda B2500 or whatever number it is - seen a few at P&P days but never seen them doing anything silly really
