its from inside the door and attaches onto the door catch

does it have anything to do with the central locking? its on a 3dr cossy?
can i just disconnect it as its broken without it affecting the central locking?

Not 100% sure but i would guess you can just leave it out if your not worried about the alarm, is there a switch that wraps around the lock barrel, if so that will be what tells all the locking motors to lock them a motor in a big plastic case on the side of the catch its self.

the switch is a common fault on mondeos.

there is another switch for the central locking which is linked to the lock itself by a bar.

my central locking does'nt work at all even if i lock either door or the boot. there must be some sort of ecu that controls everything?
