today i saved a life :D :D :D
at work, first trip out - the 16:07 to Rochdale via Oldham from manchester, all stops.
a young lad gets on at failsworth and stands in the gangway in the middle of the train, i cant get thru to do any tickets due to the sheer volume of people onboard.
gets to oldham mumps, and someone tells me that a passanger has collapsed - i go see what the problem is, and the lad who got on at failsworth had collapsed and stopped breathing
kinda without thinking, did the whole first aid thing which i had only done in training, breathing for the lad and heart massage untill the ambulance arrived - felt like ages but must of been all of 5 mins,
ambulance arrives and they use one of them electric things to jump start the lad, get his heart going again and stick him a breathing bag on and stretcher him off. ambulance blokey said due to my quick actions the lad would live - turns out he had some sort of fit and passed out and the fall to the floor did the damage
so today i feel kinda good now i am home - instead of killing people with the train, i've saved someones life on the train

you know theres only a 1 in 5 survival rate for that and thats when a hospital do it with defibulator,to actually keep someones heart circulating blood and keep them in a condition for their heart to be restarted so that they do survive is something like 1 in 7,
good on ya
