who here still posts and REALLY KNOWS there stuff?
used to like coming on here and hearing lots of usefull info but lately(and i'm talking about a year!)
all the guys in the know have fooked off!
where are they??
i could take a ban now and not care less.
if i see one more iphone4
x to spend
want a job on rigs
i'm loaded
i'm skint
what happend to 8 page threads on turbos etc/

Well personally I enjoy all the different threads in gd,after all,that's what general discussion should be,exactly that. If it's paintwork or electrics you need to know about I'm pretty accurate......to about a 40/50% tolerance!!!haven't all the tech threads not gone to the tech forums then?

the majority of ford RSs are old hat now and lots of folk have moved on

Going to agree with you on this one Dov , i dont know if its cause people have moved away from Fords or if they have moved to other sites like the Escos one.
Just seems you never see the likes of Mike Rainbird, Doug Sterling ,Karl Norris post on here anymore, hell Stu hardly ever posts (unless its to bam up a new MSD product)and its his site.

Surely GD is for this kind of random chat, and the techy questions are for the relevant rooms?
There are still plenty of knowledgeable people on here, you've just got to find them. Compared to some other forums I use (like the Mondeo one, where everyone seems to think that fuel additive and Shell petrol will cure any known fault) there's a lot of clever people who post regularly.

Its changed over the years you have to remember this Forum came from the ashes of the RSOC website when it closed for a while. It was mainly RS owners who tend to be very much car orientated. Now this site is a social networking site here solely to make a profit for its owners. Its over moderated & Tuner rivalry, that led to battles at Daddy Thrashes etc. are now totally a thing of the past.
The average Punters on here are far more interested in the colour of Cheryl Coles knickers or Dojj lates battles with his mates next door, than what progress is being made in the Ford modification scene.
Except it, because its too late to change it, very few on here know what a modified Ford is let alone own one.

I have to agree with Dovboy on this. Being a relative novice when it comes to tuning cars (engine, suspension setup, brakes etc) I used to find PF general discussion topics far more interesting than they now are. Reason being because they were more focused on the science/engineering behind tuning cars, rather than random banter that it now is on the whole. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for some banter now and again and I do still enjoy coming on here to speak to folks but I remember some of Mike's and Stu's excellent threads on engine tuning and setting up track cars were very interesting indeed.
2 years ago PF was an excellent resource for anyone interested in reading posts on tuning which detailed tech info at a highly detailed level - now I don't think this is the case sadly.

...yep totally agree with dovboy....used to be great here, i could start a war so easily among tuners etc as rod says it was rivalry and imo very good. Plus my topics although baiting threw up really interesting tech stuff. Now GD is utter shit hence why i hardly post. People hate/hated me but when i was banned the site went down hill imho..yes blowing my trumpet

Sadly Rod, you are absolutly spot on.
GD used to be full of ineresting tech threads, car chat etc, but it's just a muppet room now IMHO.. Shame, real shame.
