Do you need to strengthen the suspension turrets?? It's only used to supporting the damper not the entire weight

RS Gus,
If you are running the spring rates on the rear that are in your spec of you for sale post, then I'm surprised that you haven't put the dampers through the strut tops , but not as surprised as I am that you're saying it handles - you must run with a bag of sand in the boot .

I've got the same spec as marco's

Near enough anyway, and mine and his cars are both track\road cars.

Best compromise!

If u fit coilovers to a Saph don't u need to bash the inner wings on the rear in as they catch too much? is this the same for a 3 Door?

Gus,
Then you must be mistaken with the rate for the rear . Even AVO who have a similar mismatch don't run springs that hard on the back .

Steve,
Funny how Jay rated them . They were also good enough to give YOU a shock through Craner

Ginge,
Jim HATES the handling of his car and has told me he's scared it's going to put him through a hedge backwards . In fact, he has just ordered a set of replacement springs for the rear .

Tiff,
If the the car is never going on track, then you have my recommendation, and no matter how much that offends Dingly, I won't change that view . If you INSIST on getting coilovers, then make sure you get some spring rates suited to your usage .

Gus,
You're happy with yours I thought, so . And you have to buy suspension off me to get the knowledge that has taken me several years and loads of different springs to amass .

That was possibly the most expensive period of his test schedule, hence Sapph' setups are more expensive

Gus,
Actually, the Sapphire was THE best rwd car I have ever driven . The accident happened miscalculating braking distance .

However, I see YOUR last Sapphire was really good .

Azrael,
At the end of the day, it is all down to your budget and I cannot advise on this. However, I would advise that none of the manufacturers charge any extra for specifying non-standard spring rates.

That is a very good advice

I am currently adviseing my friend over here in Poland who has 2WD Saph and is trying to restore it to performance motoring (was used for like 6 or 8 years by old man who tught it was normal, just strange Sierra and was scared shitless of pressing the throttle) so I might suggest all that to him and when he tests it in Polish shock-absorber battlefield I might think of my own suspension setup
