Default Most power from a N/A cvh

Just trying to figure out how much can be squeezed out of a cvh. I am trying to decide what engine to go with for a bonneville salt flats racecar, and the CVH would allow me to run in the production category.

My probable block choice will be a 1.9 tall deck that has been milled down to a 1.6 deck height to satisfy the rulebook requirements. I am thinking about 14:1 compression, 2.0 crank out of and American SPI escort, huge cam, solid lifters, custom intake and exhaust manifolds and a bunch of other tricks to keep it alive at 6-8000 rpm for 2-3 minutes at a time. My current combo, a 1.9 with 8:1 compression, weber 32/34, and factory Escort GT header puts out about 100. I need about 250 o be competitive.

It needs to be an engine of the same family that was produced in the car, with the same deck height. Plus, hell will freeze over before I put a honda in my ford. If I just wanted to go fast, I would have a fox body with a 302. Cheaper than building an Escort. Plus I wouldn't have to make every part I need for the car. 1.9 engine are plentiful around here, and as long as I can shave enough off the top, I should be OK using that as an engine. Otherwise, I know where I can come up with a 1983 Escort GT 1.6 with MPFI. But that engine will cost me a minimum of $190, when I could get a whole donor car with a 1.9 for around $400. The 1.6 over here is a rare motor, and pretty useless unless I want to spend a load of cash shiping parts in from the UK. 1.9 parts are a lot cheaper an stronger. If I do end up building this, I will certainly try to keep y'all updated.
