HX40 spools up like a GT3076. Sorry, I don't know anything about borg warner turbos.

LOL, There are many different specs of HX40's. I'm talking about a performance one rather than one designed for use on a 7 - 10 litre diesel engine with a maximum output of 350bhp. The holset site doesn't cater for the performance market.

Sorry Jimbo, clogging your thread up.

sounds very good but taking 95lb roughly to 950hp that is huuuge
the turbo on there now is just a 800hp turbo, and it makes, nearly 800hp

that way there is good response and comes on boost at a sensible rpm

you can see with this engine it pulls full boost at 4k, better than a gt30 on some engines !

it peaks at 8 k and at nearly 800hp thats very respectable imo

give slightly more up top end bud, nothing too drastic, just gives something to pull against rather than the very short changes

be good with the bigger input as geared for 210 ish then, be interesting

reasonably low boost too

should sharpen the escort up ey ?

roll on ford fair

Christ Harvey strikes again !!! i see it has gained a litte boost plus i bet Harvery put very little ing timing into the race map and gained nearly 80 hp just show what can be done , and best of all very reliable and without the smuff gas.

Famtastic results, thank fuck its 4wd cause the boost looks like it comes on like a switch at just under 4K!

Going from 140bhp to 370bhp in a 500 rpm window would be lethal rwd, lol

Obviously on track it will never be below that anyway though

Going to be very very quick on track at ford fair im sure, shame i cant be there to see it.

Well done to your old man

Turbos are moving on all the time Jimbo the latest ETT BW are just a more efficient range & tests in the States show it has measurable advantages over a GT42RS.

The yb power is limited by the amount of ignition that can be safely added. Its very unlikely that 120ron would be any advantage over 109ron as the head will lift well before det can be found on 120ron, been there done that.

I remember that day on the dyno at Norris's. Almost det resistant fuel that 120 ron stuff. How much ignition advance did your engine end up with lol

Its only been on 102 so far, so 109 would probably see some good gains over that, but I agree about the way that you do just get to the stage that the fuel is capable of taking more pressure than the head gasket eventually when going from 109 to 120.
