Just found a bottle of Fuller's Discovery in a cupboard with a use by date of July 2008. Do we have anyone who is an authority on 2 year old beer on the forum? What will happen if i drink it - for the benefit of the Northerners, i know the obvious answer that you will come up with is the fact that i'm a Southerner and might get drunk on it if i drink it? Will i get the shits and a bad stomach or will it have no effect. It still looks ok, nice and clear with no cloudiness. Do i drink it or give it to a cats charity as a raffle prize (don't like cats).

If its a real ale then you may just be ok.. if its a fizzy can you see any bubbles/fizz in the bottle? if you turn it upside down.. if theres no sign of any round the neck then the carbon's gone and it'll be flat as fook

one of my sisters chav scrote mates drank a can of beer from a garden, seriously. it was in a gnome wheelbarrow and was a couple of years out of date, it put him in hospital for 2 days on an IV drip and he had the shits for a few days after that
serves him right, in my opinion and theres probably abit more to it that i was told, but tread carefully

for the sake of a quid and the fact you obviously dont really like it or it would be gone by now id find a better use for it than drinking it!
i like the leave it on a wall idea but then again i like my windows too, so id leave it on next doors wall! lol

Saw it lurking in the cupboard and thought it was my stepsons' so i left it, he saw it and thought it was mine so he also left it. When the missus was sorting out the cupboard she asked him if it was his and he said no so i wasn't going to argue as i'm not one to refuse free beer but then saw the date on it.

Well cracked it open, looked a little cloudier than i first thought but still a fair few bubbles. Took a sip - not too bad, had another and another but it didn't taste quite right, had a hint of vinegar about it so it has now gone down the sink.
Oh well another of lifes big questions answered - what does 2 year old beer taste like - answer: vinegary beer.
