theres more ex car thieves on this site than I would like to think at least 2 of them stole at least 40 escorts back in the 90s and we all deal with them and think they are great when they really funded the hero worshiped cars they run with our missery this all led to not being able to register built cars even on Q plates so a few people built legit cars then used old mk5 log books not strictly by the book but thats not to say this is one of them either

Why pay 9k for it , you could get a 3i book & buy a stolen escos fo what ever you get it off a theif for & hey presto you have saved nearly 6.5 k
needs dinging up better huh, is escos id pricey?
, maybe export/import would clean it up
dunno what the rant above about car theives was but i think the ford RS scene is pretty closly related to theft and generally naught stuff
in the many many rst's i broke up it was rare to see an untampered vin and i expect 50%or more were old school ringers from back the the day
when i was 17 i was offered escos's for Ł350 complete or Ł450 with leather!!! by a chap who seemed to appear nightimes with lorries and daytimes with lorry chassis shapped piles of scrap
i was always broke running my mk1 fiesta
DAMN

its just like lots of rally cars ...
been built up out of a good escos chassis then registered with an xr3 i book..
The shell wont have any numbers and can be stamped some where on the chassis by the police to save confusion in the future with any other old bill....
Looks like a nice car to buy imo if it doesnt bother you about the fact its a 3i on the book..
cheers danny

Too pricey... but if you aint arsed about the history of the car be a good buy for 7k tops I'd have thought.
Cars like this float around all the time... in rally circles its almost the done thing.
I've been to see loads of ex rally cars on 3i log books - hell one of em was an Escort Cossie on a Mk3 Escort log book.

Scrap my previous comments, if it has passed through their hands then I'd be very surprised if its a decent car... they're well known for their buckets of shite, if you have a few hours to kill, type Keighley Tra*e Ce*tre (*'s to remove potential legal implications...
) into the google machine and read the reports and experiences.
