upgrading 2005 focus to 2008 focus... possible?

upgrading 2005 focus to 2008 focus... possible?
Would it be possible to upgrade a 2005 style focus stereo/dash to a 2008 style one using something like this:

Would they line up properly with the current fittings/cables/climate control etc?
the theory in my head says it might be possible as ford are probably too cheap to change it too much just the shapes that show... and comparing pics of old and new the climate control looks the same shape just more funky in modern, and the replacement stereo is square back wit a sticking out oval bit so might slot in?
any ideas
?

yeh i considdered that - its just paying the Ł200 for a stereo surround, thats instantly going to loose value.
plus the standard stereos dont come with satnav i dont think. only the large full fascia one which dont work with the wiring loom from what iv read.
worth a try tho - going to try and find a 2008 climate control too cheaper than buying a new car haha

just found a cheap Ł80 second hand one on ebay - might try it with that, if it fits then get a satnav version - less money to loose if it dnt work!

Stage 1 complete:
2008 focus:
My Focus:
everything on the stereo works inc the steering controls and aux socket.
Next step to get a fascia! gona try one off a 08 focus if that fails try and find someone to mould one for me.. then to try and change to a 08 climate control.
