+1 other than that you cant will have to be a trailer, remember if you get cought driving with no tax test insurance they will impound the car there and then,so not realy worth it.

Suelry someone with trade insurance/or yourself with your own if you have it already will be fine, if you know someone with trade plates just to get it home and "chance" the MOT. They cant take it off you for that, only insurance as it takes the risk away from the rest of the insured drivers on the road? Tax would be another matter, i have only ever had a 60 quid fine for using cars without tax but i presume yours is "sorned"? if so i dont know what they would do if you were intentionaly using a sorned car on the road. Think the cops would be lenient??? if you explanined it though.......maybe!

Just collect it and drive direct to the place where the mot is, assume this will be your local mot place, so long as pre booked you're covered, if it fails you can then drive from there to a place of repair, just ask the garage if necessary can you drop it off the day before mot, if that's the only time you can get it here, on garage premisses nothing plod can do.

it will be insured but is this valid with no tax and ticket?
i really wanna drive it but there is a number plate camera on my route home (im sure these do tax and that) so dont want a letter popping thro the door a week later
recovery is the best option but if there is a way round driving it then thats the plan

Gus just book it in for an mot and do make sure you book it as they check! How are you meant to get tax without an MOT
and for god sake don't tell them who built it for you or they will be stringing your tar and feathered corpse from the talliest tree in the county!!

Get the AA to pick it up. I got them to tow my Escort home without Tax and Test as I wasn't driving it illegally I even stopped off, bought some wheels for the girlfriend and met the driver back at my house
Either that and book it in for an MOT. Then phone up when at home and say the cars broken down, so unable to attend the MOT.

gus u could book it in for a mot later that day , use trade plates ( this covers tax) booked mot will cover moving the car with no mot and insure it , get the car home ( book a station past ur house ) then once its home call mot station tell em you cant make it , job done ? this would be ok as long as u go straight home if you get stoped you can say you was on your way for mot ( all booked ) but something has stoped working and you are taking the car back home to fix the prob

15 min drive
yeah i just getting excited i guess
it has been a while since i have driven a (hopefully) fast car
yeah they can sort mot
the company i used to paint the car now also own a mot station / garage so was gonna use him to mot it as it would cost me the price of the paper its written
gives him a chance to see the car i plagued him with all that time ago
guess trailor is the best option
or i might just go beefy style

Just do it by the book, and get a trailer to take it home.
Whilst the car might be insured, if were to be involved in an accident, having no MoT can leave you vulnerable, should you end up being prosecuted. Also, no tax on the vehicle might only mean a £60 ticket from a stop/check, the details get passed over to the DVLA, and they'll quite happily pull your pants down for a big fine.
Better to not incur any issues, and spend the money on the car, making it tip top!

If you have a vehicle capable of towing, and a licence which allows you to, hiring a trailer isn't too painful. I managed to hire one for 45 quid for 24 hrs.
