Default discs and pads, mk5 Escort...

Been a LONG time since I actually did anything to a car So just asking as a refresher really...

Escort needs new front brakes. Just gonna lob on a set of stock discs and new pads. Not gonna fuck around changing the fluid etc.

Anything I should remember? Other than remove wheel, remove caliper, remove disc, pop out pads from caliper, fit new pads to caliper, bung on new disc, refit caliper, refit wheel.

Am I missing anything? Will I likely need to use a pair of grips to push the caliper piston back in when fitting new pads, and if so, anything special need to be done after?

As said, been probably 8+ years since I worked on a car, so just looking for a heads up really...

Thats about it really. WD40 incase the caliper bolts are stuck. Should be able to push the pistons back by hand/screwdriver/end of a hammer
Oh and don't forget to wipe the discs down with brake cleaner.

Yeah, coming back to me now - brake cleaner for the discs, bit of copperslip for the backs of the pads, and unscrew the brake fluid res lid before pushing the calipers back
