Default Column stalk interchangeability?

I currently have a sierra loom in a kit car running what Ive been told are mk3 escort stalks on a mk2 escort column.

Ideally Id like to fit something a little more modern and aesthetic. Did for keep the wiring plugs the same for a number of years? Would later escort ones fit?

Any advice appreciated!

Ford used loads of different switches with different terminal positions, so long as you match the numbers up to your existing loom then it will be ok, obviously if getting newer switches make sure they will physically fit.

No not really, if you can get it to physically fit then I'm sure it could be sorted, most are fairly similar, just the combo's of wires in different orders.
For example to bring my cossie up to the 25th century, it has a simple dip or main beam selection by pulling the stalk to "flash" position like most newer cars, just got used to it on other cars and find it easier.

They don't look like Mk3 stalks to me. They've got an 87 part number for a start...

They might be Sierra ones which would make sense if its a Sierra loom.
