HUGE thanks for Nige Louise & Si for being excellent hosts We had an awesome time Went to Goodwood today too which was superb as a friend of ours is a Redbull Racing engineer so got to go in and snoop around the truck, sit in the car and stand next to it while it fired up - loud doesn't come close!

Happy with that

Typically does more like 1:25-1:26 though on a clear lap, and on the laps messing around with porkie it was nearer to the 1:30 mark, my lines into quarry were terrible when paying more attention to him in my rearview than to the track, lol
check me on msn later, i presume you know how to use ftp

Glad to hear Goodwood was worth the drive! Its not what you know, but who you know

Thanks to you guys for making the trip down to Castle Combe, I think more people should make the effort as its defintely one of the best shows of the year, even with less RS's than usual on track!

Personally i had a great day - i ran with illegal road tyres in the morning to get that last bit of life out of them and was pleased with 1min 20secs lap times on them The car was all over the shop with many lairy slides being the result of my aggressive turn in driving style, excellent fun but a little hairy for my liking.

Completely the opposite from SBD16v, i came off track and Si checked my tyres pressures. He asked if my gauge was reading in bar (it wasnt) i had 3.5psi in the front left tyre Puncture found, wheels swapped to the set with my R888's, and back on track again.

Best laptime of the day was 1:18.8 - not bad for <380bhp when cars with 200+bhp more than me were clocking mid 1:17's Next year i hope to join the SiB / Danny battle

Certainly not the HUGE difference between R888's and knackered Falken 452 road tyres that you would probably think there would be - around 1.5 seconds per lap generally.

Overall a top day as always - big thanks to Bristol & Swindon RSOC for their efforts

All in all, great day out as always.

Ratty, Jase, nice to meet you chaps and say Hello. Gooon was going really well in the afternoon, considering you's only just got it done.

Chip, I was really hoping that wasn't your Clio........gutted. But at least hopefully not too much damage.

Porkie, was it you tearing it up with Chip in your Clio at the same time.? Didn't even realise.

Spiky, the Pug was sounding fookin great as always and really goin some.

Si B, Danny, awesome driving, made the day really worth a watch, but Si, I bet you wish you still had the black one dude.!!!

Roll on 2011........oh and Rally Day, another great Combe day out.

there were too many peole and cars to take in with just one post

but the track action was very very good, the black mk2 escort which was giving it loads of understeer into one of the corners and the red mk2 escort which went round so sweetly were just 2 of the contenders for the best line through the corners

the drift boys were good as well, again, the mk2 escort was giving it large every corner, even on the straights

then there were the guys who were going round so quickly they didn't have time to showboat

and i think i spotted ran being black flagged at some point in the afternoon in his little fiesta

still think peole should be wandering around with user name tags on them so that we can actually see who's who

Not had a proper look at it yet, but doesnt seem to have done any damage at all other than the gearbox will now be fucked from lack of fluid, which I have a spare one of at home and takes about 3 hours to change, total non event, Im not bothered so you shouldnt be, I basically classed the day as "going without major incident" as its such a simple fix, and getting home was no issue as I A-framed the car anyway.

Porkie, was it you tearing it up with Chip in your Clio at the same time.? Didn't even realise.
If it was black wheels its was porkie, if it was white wheels it was TankMike, as they were both giving me a good run, although Mike was a little off mine and lee's pace.

but the car didnt catch fire, the only thing that burnt was some oil that leaked out a drive shaft gaitor, if that had spread to anything and the car caught fire then it would have been an issue, but it didnt, and as i wasnt planning on re-using the leaked oil, it made no difference to me if it was burnt or unburnt.
You have to put these things in perspective.
Even Stu's fire was relatively minor in the grand scheme of things depsite how dramatic it looked, he'd do more damage financially if he kerbed the wheel badly and bent up the suspension

Fair point Chip, and I can understand your point of view
Just looked a bit poorly with no bonnet on the back of the truck when ti came in, but if no harm done than good good.

And Dojj, great idea, maybe FF clothing or a t-shirt printers can run a special line of shirts ( like the RS owners club polo's, that everyone can have ''personalised'' with their PF user names.

We have our PF names on the Gooon
And considering its the only Maestro you will probably ever see on Track, it makes us prety distiugishable

We just need to do a bit of work on the car to make it a good track car, Engine has a potential for another 50bhp or so, we need to look at brakes, sharpen up the handling and do some geometry set up

It did well on sat all things considered, we were still finishing off 7pm the night before

We got these done for vauxsport, logo on front, larger logo on the back, and a site slogan under the logo, if you wanted then it would be no problem at all to get a name added as well, and they were available in about 40 different colours for the clothing for the bits of text:

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...gearhoody2.jpg

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...sgearhoody.jpg

Came in at 12 quid for a long sleeve t and 15 for a hoody IIRC

Name tags seems a bit lame to me though TBH

in which case, i've got my:

pf t-shirt
pf muppet room t-shirt
dojj t-shirt

so no more spending money for me then

last year i wore them all as i was feeling a bit hot and bothered during the day and it was nice to have and change of clothing

knowing my luck though no other cunt will be wearing anything remotly similar or they'll be dressed in pink like the scooby boys were a few years back

its been my first ever ford show and i have to say i was very impressed with the people who were there, everyone was really friendly and only took a hello before you could just break into random conversations, from chatting to a random bloke about dynamic compression ratios to talking to mark from MA about thermostat drilling.

Noone seemed up there own nose and everyone seemed to be enjoying the banter, i think ill come the next one in my car and maybe have some fun on the track aswell.

Special thanks to MADROD and Danny from enhanced for taking the time to chat with me when i knew they were getting questions from everyone else there

yea, had an awesome day. I went out on track in my ford

Andddd, broke 2 cv joints after session 3, got my step dad to drive from Hereford with 2 new ones, and made it back out for the second to last session

Was a good day. All you guys were so fast on the straights. Need a duratec

Thing flies throught he bends though...really happy with hankook tyres, awesome when they came on.

Day went so much better being focused on track knowing that frp owners were secretly plotting to murder me for painting one white and green LOL

Cheers Brian, glad I found the pennies to go, sad I wrecked the turbo costing me a lot more than pennies! Black one was such a reliable and good car in comparison!

Good on ya for putting your Ford on the track, shame so many don't these days. My Cossie lived on the track (when it wasn't being fixed!)

Loved the colour scheme, your car was easy to spot. 10/10 for your effort / commitment to keep the car going even after the CV failure

Was at quarry. Parked car middle of track. Lost sight of ya sorry. It annoys me when slower stuff doesnt move.

I made all effort to make frp mint frp before and wasted 5k and then bmw jumped some lights and wrote it off. Then decided cars are for enjoying! So to rally car it went. Cars been rebuilt 3 times now. And its taken til now to enjoy it. Fords born on track
not garages : p
