Glad a good day was had by all, not quite the same anymore now I'm RS-less

 

Does anyone know if Chip's ok? Heard a Clio Williams caught fire towards the end of the day. Think his was the only one there?

 

i didn't take any pics of jim topless, didn't have the camera ready when he rocked up not that i would have put them up, i've got a few pics of teh day on my phone but not that man to warrent postng up a picture thread, there'll be loads of them later in the evening

There was plumes of smoke coming from it over the back of the track.....then it came in on the recovery truck doused in powder/foam so didn't look good He looked ok though sat in the truck enjoying a free lift back

 

Yes it was chips.

It leaked oil into the heat wrap on the exsaust manifold and it caught fire.

Nothing major i don't think

Was a cracking day, Running in the Maesyro (GOOON) was good.

Had loads of issues in the morning but Pm, was really good,

Just needs some cams a bit more mapping and a few little issues sorted

 

Just got back from combe, another great day out yes a little quieter than last year but never the less a great day out. Some good track action and even got to do the parade lap in my little Fezz turbo, and had a bit of fun with another from the Cornwall group!! Weather always helps of course, and if you think that was a great day out why not come along to Pembrey Race Circuit on the 30th of August for the South & West Wales RS Track & Show....Hint,hint!!

 

Chip is fine.

Driveshaft seal went and leaked oil onto manifold which caught fire, but must only have been a small one as no damage I don't think, but Chip will update later.

I'm sat at Sketch's while he's in the shower... Si and Nige are about to take us out in Yeovil..

I was passenger in Si's car when we were following Danny's Escort - that was a proper session! Danny was really throwing it about, leaving biggg no 11's out of virually every bend, and at some speed too! We have it all on video so hopefully get it up soon.

Great day out weather was tops had a good a laugh last night camping woke up at 4am with a king head ache took two pain killers fell back into my tent and then woke at at 7am feeling better

sold a few bits which was result, good to meet and chat to everybody today you all know who you are

was a top day i think and even though i had a couple of issues like snapping the adjuster on one of my front coilovers so it was stuck on soft my yellow rs2k done ok 250 miles including on track

Got some on board video of you, I had a camera in the Petes Radical.... you should have kept your foot in! you would have had the legs on it upto Avon rise! You can see the car has some GRUNT!

Radical vids are amazing.... looking through them now!

 

HOLY CRAP I WAS SO SO LUCKY TODAY.

If that happened on track or 10 seconds later in the paddock the Westy and everything inside it would have been toast.

Simply put...................the marshals saved my car today and I cant thank them enough for that.

Got the whole thing on video too so will post it in a while.

Then you can see just how much of a PROPER fire it was!!!

I have to be honest the Radical appeared from knowhere and took me by surprise. My drivers side wing mirror was missing today. Then I glimpsed a blue blur and moved the hell out the way

Awesome cars and day overall

 

order of events was:
clutch slipped
I saw oil smoke behind me
I backed off and went to continue to pits to see what was up with the engine (assumed smoke was from my engine, rings or whatever)
Marshall waved flag like fuck and gestured with extinguisher at me which luckily rob saw and told me.
I pulled over, some gearbox oil had leaked onto the exhaust and gone up
Marshall was great and put it straight out.

Looks like I've got away with it and just need to chuck a gearbox in it, can find no sign of any fire damage on anything, lucky it never really caught much as no petrol there or anything like that.

Had an awesome day, most people on track we're going well.
Couldn't find anyone else who was matching my pace round camp though

Very lucky Stu, it was scary to see it, i was just there as you came under the bridge when it erupted, i was saying to myself 'fook me, Stu needs to get out quick'
