I hope they sort out the focus because its really not fair on the others, i mean they restricted it but it still has the legs on the straights, Plato was pretty vocal on this at the last race.

Not that im Anti ford or anything, its just not fair on the others

 

Why should they keep on being punished for doing a better job than the others?

Plato has a very short memory as his Chevvy was very quick down the straights last year

I dont think the bosses in charge of motorsport like fords they have always been picked on.The 3dr got picked on cause they reckon it was running bigger back tyres.The mondeos got extra weight put in them cause no other car could catch them even though they still won races and now its the focus.

But their car isnt equal, it is actually too heavy at the moment and runs above the minimum weight limit which everyone conveniently forgets about

The WTCC is on eurosport at 11.45 from Zolder in Belguim, should be some good racing on this track.

Remember Chilton got DQ at Brands when he won a race due to ride height irregularities. That wasn't the real reason...

A little birdy told me that the Focus wasn't strictly in line with the regulations at the end of last year either.

Heard about something that happened with the SEAT TDi's a couple of years back, if true it proves they don't just pick on Ford's!

 

Yea the team has said that the turbo and LPG gubbinsh as added extra weight to the car and put them above the limit by a small margin.

You cant just say something like that and not tell us, just sounds like your talking bull shit else

They are all 2.0 turbos, im not sure exactly what type of engine the focus has but thats what all the petrol cars run.

Do you really think those big touring cars would be as quick as that without a turbo?

Don't think so sure the focus was maken 320bhp before LPG and turbos, as far as I'm aware only the LPG and diesel are allowed turbos to make up for being down on power

 

So they make almost 300bhp from a 2.0 n/a? thats why i thought it was turbo'd now

Focus are LPG Turbos. Andy Jordan & Dave Pinkney's Vectra's are the NGTC turbo engines which is the new regulation engine in BTCC from 2011.

I saw Andy Jordans NGTC car coming first on the last race, doesnt really look any quicker as he wasnt pulling away from the field, but if there cheaper to build/mod then thats better for BTCC

 

I think the idea is to 'open' them up a bit over time whilst the old NA machinery is phased out over 3 or 4 years. Right now they are pegged back a bit to make them equal.
