You shouldn't be getting any mixed ideas as to how its done as only one way to do it properly !
Rocker cover off and line up the camshafts so the timing bar can be inserted in the end of them, remove the tdc bolt from the back of the block (in behind the o/s driveshaft) and insert locking pin making sure the crank locks up against it and job done.
Just be sure not to turn the engine over until you have torqued the crank pulley bolt as engine can turn without the belt moving !
Also dont rely on just the camshaft bar for locking the cams when undoing the pulley bolts, use self grips to hold each shaft or you will shear the ends off the shafts !
