Default Another iPhone thread.......

I've currently got a 3GS 16gb and obviously fancy the new one. Going by what I can see on the 02 website I can upgrade early for £20 a month for any months outstanding on my current contract. Which equates to £300!!

02 recycle will then give me £228 for my 3GS........ Which means a new iPhone 4 for the princely sum of £72!! Obviously on a new 18 month contract like I'm already on.

This is how I understand it, which seems GREAT to me! Am I missing something? Or does anyone know something I don't?

I'm planning on selling my iPhone but theres no way I'd sell to o2 for that price. You should get closer to the £300 mark depending on condition of the phone and if its offically unlocked. I wont be excepting anything less than £300 for my iPhone but then again mine is only 3 months old and had screen protector and case on from day 1 so its still in new condition.

Mine's as new still too, but not unlocked. Ive been looking on ebay to see how much they're going for and would say around £250 is the going rate for the 16gb second hand.

I noticed that bud, but cant find anywhere that tells you what that ultimately limits you to? From what I have read I'd say i'm no way near that mark anyway!!

Be careful with o2 and the data pack as when the Iphone4 is launched O2 are scrapping "unlimited" tarriffs and giving you the option of 500 meg or 1 gig a month data allowance

£20 a month at 15 months im guessing?

So, £20 x 15 to pay off existing contract = £300

Plus £300 for the new phone = £600

Minus the £228 that they will give you for your old phone = £372 you'll have to shell out!

You've forgotten that you will have to actually pay for the handset!

Im quite lucky in that i only have 5 months left of my contract, so only £100 to pay off the contract then £300 for the phone. Ive just sold my 3GS for £460 on ebay which has paid for it all!

I read most places with be going down the route of capping the data from now on due to the new smart phones overloading the networks with data

They were all capped anyway, at least Orange is due to the fair use policy. What's unfair about using over 500mb i don't know.

But, why is the handset £300? I only paid 70 for my 3GS on a 24 month last November, are O2 not subsidising when you upgrade early?

Rick
When the 3GS came out on the release date, the 19th June last year it cost me £30 to end my contract and £299 for the handset, on a 18 month contract. It woulda been cheaper to upgrade in November as IIRC thats when Orange, etc got their hands on the iphone, so prices had to be reduced to compete.

why not sell your 3GS privately (avforums)

Buy an iPhone 4 outright (about £449 to £499)

Cut your current sim down to micro sim style

fit in the new iPhone 4 and hey presto, mike rainbird is your nans left saggy breast!

The handset for a new contract will be about £150 NOT £300

Who says the handset costs? From all the info I've had from O2 it implies that the phone is a free upgrade if you 'buy' your way out of the existing contract.

NO

you're in a contract for a reason! the buy out option is so you can get OUT of your contract only

you will not get any part of any new iphone for free

you will pay the same as everyone else

People spending £100 plus to end their contracts early are twats imo.....

Cut your current sim down to micro sim style Or you could just fill out this form here and register your interest and get a micro sim sent out for free.

The handset for a new contract will be about £150 NOT £300 As i said, last year to upgrade to a 3GS 32Gb on O2, it was £299
All we are doing just now is guessing on prices really. We will find out tomorrow for definite though

Fucking hell £500

Is it really worth that then?

I have horrible iwant syndrome just now on a bloody iphone. Wish i'd never bought my fucking satio.

What will be so much betetr of the new one over the 3gs? ANyone want to simplify it for me?

Will the 3gs be better with the software upgrade?

If anyone wants a quick hassle free sale at cheap price on a white 16gig 3gs then let me know please.

I just cant understand why you would buy these ones off Ebay for £650+, when you can just jump onto apple online and preorder it yourself and pay £499 or £599??

These dribblers selling the 32GB iPhone 4 on ebay for £670 + 7 postage

a) the buyer is a TWAT paying 77 more than from apple

b) the seller is an even bigger TWAT. Sale px £677. Ebay take 10%. Take away (67.7) leaves £609.3 retail is £599! leaves him with £10.30 profit!

Add listing fees and if paid by paypal, their cut also. He will be DOWN on the deal

fucking spastics!

PS, pre-ordered 2 x 32GB sim free versions from apple on launch day . Uber cool!

So it'll cost me £300 to end me current contract and £179 for the phone upgrade on another 18 month contract....

I may as well just get a sim free one from Apple and flog mine off! Gotta wait til July 2nd now though...... Bastards!!!!
