Is it a 2 button remote without an led?
If it is then try this...
1. remove the battery (in the remote)
2. press the buttons one after the other
3. replace the battery
4. stand by the car (with the door locked) and press the lock then the unlock button over and over again untill the door unlocks.
It might take a while - but usually works.
We change the batteries for customers at work - this has got me out of the sh*t many many times!!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
If the car is totally immobilised I have a man in Bedford who specialises in 're-mobilising' Rovers.
Dont know how far he goes but if he's really stuck mail me and I'll pass on his details (neil@105speed.com)
Personally I would take it as an omen.... obviously the gods are saying... Dont Drive Rovers... scrap it and buy a decent car !!

PhilM - if he's trying to re-synchronise a fob that is presently stored in the car's system, then the procedure phil4x4 suggests should do it.. if he needs to code in a "new" one that hasn't been used with the car before, then u will need to have it done by a specialist.

Neil, car is fine mate, its not immobilised, simply the remote CL buttons on the key dont work any more. So he has to unlock it manually.
Cheers Rich and Phil, will try that
