Default any body had a problem with new FRS hand brake?

parked my car on a slope outside the local social club the weekend, only to be asked by a friend "did you feel that post when you were parking?"

long story short, i put the handbrake on, but the car still rolled and hit a steel pillar. car is less than 2 weeks old!!! brakes were warm at the time but hardly been around Donnington Park!! im not sure weather i just didnt pull it hard enough, or weather it didnt catch on the ratchet properly and dropped back off slightly when i got out of the car.

so, was just wondering if anybody has experienced anything like this. especially with the new RS focus.

thanks.

Not had a prob with mine, however as with most cars I dab the brake pedal before applying the handbrake. I also leave them in gear when possible as in in my garage for instance when I dont use the car for some time and leave in gear...

ALWAYS leave it in gear. Its a problem for all cars with rear disc brakes, the disc expands when it gets hot, when you apply the handbrake. As it cools down it shrinks, which causes it to loose grip with the pad.
