did you actually time any of yr laps?

i did a lot of timing of the weekend either with stop watches or from on board footage and the best i got was 10.10 for a complete lap.
my final lap ended early as i had oil pressure warning light come on and at that point i was 30secs up on my best time.

the ibiza we took with us thats running 298bhp and 344f/lb best time was 9.18 with us getting caught up in the big accident on monday morning involving the 2 gt3's.

Somebody I know timed (on video) a 9:20 and I flew past them 2/3rds into the lap, so im not 100% on the time but it was a fair bit quicker than that.

reason i ask is 9:20 is a VERY respectable time for anyone to do,,,,, under 9 feels like a fucking scary lap and 8:30 and less the car is sliding all over the place,,,,,, and fuck all seems to pass you

i cant even do a 9:20 in my scooby tbh as im not that confident so fair bit quicker im expecting a a min of 300bhp or a well set up car with a driving god at the wheel

Think and believe what you like, the car is only 140bhp but it weighs nothing and with some very sticky tyres it makes for a very surprising track car.

It's pointless saying what I may or may not have overtaken, because 90% of the cars on there arent being driven to their full potential either because the driver is being careful (which is fair enough, I dont think I would drive a Ł100,000 car as hard as I would a Ł3000 fiesta..) or the drivers just arent very good.

I'll be sure to post up here when I get my hands on any of the videos...

this is the car of a nice couple we met in the hotel next door,,,, we was working on SiB's car and then mentioned,,,,, " if only we had a relay we could test this",,,,,,, and he comes over holding a bag with more relays than i have at work pmsl

he can also pedal the car well,,,, that i forgot it was "only a 328i" as it handled and was geared just spot on for the ring !!!

though we did learn that if we wanna catch the 2pm ferry and leave at 10am,,,, we need to go alot quicker than 90mph and i still think Sketch cheated,,,, as he was at the back at one point then he somehow won,,,, though we wasnt ment to go over 90mph !!!!

there is a seat arosa 1.4 thats a regular at the ring ginge with 118hp,cage,suspension and tyres and that does very low 9's every lap. so it should be possible in a zetec s with a decent driver.

I went out with james, and there is very little that gets past the car. Its a very very unestimated car, it was sticking to the track like glue. He was 100% committed into every corner, i cant do it myself, i go in at about 75% purely on the basis i want to be sure i will be driving home with a car/without a hefty bill.

When he is out there in august, ask for a PAX lap, you WON'T be dissappointed

its very impressive,,,,,,, but again if i lived at the ring,,,,,,,, i would hope learnt the track consideing i had garage of track car from alfas to porsche gt3rs's

he times in hes old spec mx5 where far more impressive IMO as that wasnt a really sick modded car with a super charger strapped to it

Thing that worries me about it is crashing on someone else oil/coolant spill.

I've been going over there since 2000 and seen far too many bad crashes.

I believe sub 9 mins in a zetec s on decent tyres and a few tweaks.

JC has done 8:34 in a standard phase 1 mk2 clio, with a passenger.

Its ALL about commitment, most cars are capable of a 9 minute lap if they have someone good enough at the wheel.

out of interest mate what times was lee's clio doing? under estimated wee cars them. seen a few at the auctions and there alot of fun for the ŁŁŁ

I was out at the nurburgring while you guys were there, cars were looking well and going vary well too.
