Default Just back from the Emerald Isle, My Tale lol

Attended a wedding over in the Republic of Ireland yesterday and thought I would share the experience with you all. Was a bit of a drama to get there because of that poxy volcano keeps spitting out cack

Was meant to fly out to Shannon on Friday midday but flight was cancelled due to volcanic frigging ash, managed to get an alternate flight into Dublin early on Saturday morning and from there hired a car and began the road trip to get to Dromoland castle.

Also never trust a sat nav the place where the wedding was held was at Dromoland castle which is located in Newmarket upon Fergus in Co Claire, so I entered Newmarket into the frigging sat nav and it took us to Newmarket in County Cork the road trip was going so well up to that point until we asked one of the locals where Dromoland Castle is and he told us we were 50-60 miles away from it, wedding was at 2pm and at the point where we asked for directions it was 12 midday

No car goes as fast as a hire car as I promptly done a 180 and stood on the gas pedal to the floor of our hired pug 308, it was the only time that I have not had a ear hole bashing for driving like a lunatic finally got to Dromoland Castle at 1pm and Christina promptly got ready as she was one of the Bridesmaids, she left along with the bridal party to get to Ennis Cathederal were the service was being held, followed by myself a little later

So in the end it was all's well that ends well, a lovely service and reception that followed.

Ireland is truly the emerald isle and the Irish are lovely people. I would recommend a visit to anyone who has not been there

Didn't take too many photos but here are a few of the Castle and grounds

our room which was superb

and me being held up by the bathroom door frame

Took a picture of this sign as its my Daughter's name

delighted you enjoyed your time in ireland! hope you made it out to the cliffs of moher/burren while you were that close.

the ash cloud is a disaster alright. i was meant to be flying home to ireland from toronto earlier in the week and ended up stuck in london half the week. i was loving it really though - could be stuck in worse places!!
