electrical problem that needs solving

Default electrical problem that needs solving

hi hope someone out there can help with an electrical problem i have on a n reg ford escort.The fog light ,window heater & rear wiper are all coming on together, when one or the other is switched on.Ive looked for a loose earth wire and checked the plungers at the back but can't see a problem.
Im not much good when it comes to electrics so don't really know what i'm looking for.Hope someone has some ideas cus its doing my head in

try the fuse box. common problem with them cars..

cheers mate but when u say check fuse box what am i looking for is it touching wires cus i've checked fuses and they're ok

Hi mate,the fusebox tends to fail on them internally.if your that way inclined you could strip the whole fuseboard down and find where the shorts are on it but I'd save the hassle myself and get one that's been repaired from somwhere like eBay.it's common to most fords of that generation mate so there's probbo someone out there sorting it.

it will be your tailgate pins that are corroded or the hinge pins as the tailgate earths through here.tap the pins back and forth that should clear the rust and get it all working again

Surely if it was an earth problem then they wouldn't work , i would of thought , as when i had my rs2000 i used to have to clean the contacts to make the wiper work ,

I could be wrong tho

I like said would go for the worse fuse box ever made in ford history .
