I had one for 3 days and hated it,bored the shit out of me..
Then the guy i sold it to spun a big end on hes first track day!!!

iv driven 2 on track before a 340hp one that bored me to tears and an evo 5 with 560 hp that was fun(still nothing like my escos)and handled nice but iv got loads of mates that have had them also that have had loads of issues with big ends spinnng etc...
All depends what your used to and what you expect from a track toy i suppose..

depends if you class sideways as fun, or a good few laps chasing or getting chased by someone else who is giving his car the best he can get out of it...think thats my fun.

if that means getting good grip,speed,handling etc...and its in an evo or escort then that will do me.

surely there cannot be much difference in it.

 

yeah i no what your saying,iv had good fun in an stock hatch xr2 beating cossies etc at coombe last year...
What i like from a good track car is feed back and feeling as well as having to drive it and i dont get any of that from an evo but then again i havent had a realy well speced track evo only road cars on the track and theres a whole world of difference between a road car and a proper race car...

i dont no exactly what you mean mate???iv driven loads of different escoses in loads of different states of tune fast road track and race car and imo are much better than any saph and nearly every 3dr on track but my point was a std ish evo 3 on track is pants imo id also say the same about a std escos(even worse actually)but the point was after seeing some of the cars paul owns and has owned surely the evo will bore the shit out of him and probablly break????
Hope he has fun in it and it suits him just know i wouldnt bother but thats only my opinion..

theres no AYC on the evo 1 2 3 s i had a 400BHP evo 1 that was terrible, slightest hint of rain and a mate evo4 would leave it for dead and his was standard, and it killed 3 boxes in a year, kept stripping 3rd

I think what Porkie means is that i may just be quite shocked what a shitter evo 3 goes like and may make me try somthing like a 6 /7 etc and i may realise that cossies arnt all that

Also when i break it up this also may just get me moving in other circles and open my eyes to a different world

I will still say my 500bhp rs500 is the best track car i have ever had and takes some getting passed ( on the straights ) lol as she is a little bit of a handfull on the corners

I hope the evo gives me a little insight into the jap world
