Injector 2 constantly on??
Hi,
Ive just fitted my new engine and fuel pump looms,
Now the problem im having is injector 2 is pulsing constantly with the ecu pluged in, and the fuel pump is intermittently pulsing.
Cylinder 2 is now full of fuel,
if i try injector 2 lead on the other injectors it has the same effect
Ive also tried ISCV lead and they dont appear to be crossed over?
Also the secs monitor isnt switching on although it is wired correctly and there is power to the ecu?
any ideas would be appreciated
BTW spec is ;msd coilpacks (with wrc cam trigger) grey injectors braided engine and fuel pump looms,044 pump etc

see if there is power to it using a test light so at least you can eliminate it from your problems
i toasted my 3 door when one of the injectors earthed out and i had neat petrol pissing out of the turbo housing when i opened the bonet, and the next thing, it went "poof!" and up in a cloud of smoke

I'm *fairly* certain there's nothing wrong with the actual wiring itself - it's a Ryan loom (not that old).
Checked all the routes to earth on all hairbrush pins (from pins 1 /19)
All engine plugs fitted - ecu removed.
Not found anything massively wrong I don't think - couple of things I'm not entirely sure about though:-
ISCV pin 34 - multimeter beeps with 007 on reading
Fuel pump relay - pin 28 resistance reading 087 ish
Ecu relay - pin 10 resistance reading 087 ish
Ign amp - pin 24 resistance reading too can't remember what though.
No perm earths on inj 2
inj 2 not stuck open (tested with rail out, no injectors plugged in)
ECU does not run Matt baxters car either - which is similar setup - his no 2 injector does the same with my ecu.

personally i wouldnt rule out the loom ,
granted its a new loom , but probs can always arise ,
think folk automatically assume at its a new part ( in genral ) that it should be in working order ,
over the years weve trace plenty of faults to a new part fitted ,
just my input
hope you sort it fella

Slight update on this,
Ive removed the secs monitor with no change
ive removed the earth from the inlet with no change
ive disconnected every sensor and it still dose it
Ive also now found that a couple of the plugs are firing randomly as well

So let me get this right you sent the ECU to MSD and they told you it was OK . So to get it sorted you had to get the car to MSD and it turned out to be a problem with the ECU
I would wont to no why they did not find it when you sent the ECU to them to be tested

also the car wouldnt start due to the wrc cam trigger sensor gap, which did not function when i ran a scope on it.
runs just fine now.
thanks for the concern though
