Default K-Sport brakes?

Anybody heard of them/used them? Can't be too bad as there are refernces to Time Attack on the site.

£800 for 330mm brakes with 8 pot calipers is looking very attractive as my tank needs some new stoppers anyway and had been looking at £400 to do a 312mm conversion that retained the standard caliper , albeit with the carriers off a bigger braked model.

Ive seen them on a few Subarus, and a friend has driven them. He said they were excellent.

No idea about longeivity though. But then AP's dont last forever either. At the money, they seem excellent value, and good quality.

roads use you wuld need to keep ontop of it all the time to stop the build up of brake dust in the pistons

might be worth asking them about dust seals. might be able to get them at extra cost which would be worthwhile.

k sports have been used on skylines and impreza's for a while now, they are supplied by a company called apex performance,

excellent brakes, but the ksport pads are wank, deffo advise uprating pads to ds2500's or similar.

imho

From the website:

  • I saw that K-Sport brake calipers have no dust shield seals. How does it look then with the durability?
K-Sport brake calipers have forged aluminum brake pistons with a Hardcoat coating. Other manufacturers use steel piston, this rust then with the aluminum caliper together trought humidity. Steel and aluminum do not get along, since a local cell develops (electrochemistry) and the base metal is oxidized. The material mating, the Eloxal of the calipers and the Hardcoat coating of the forging pistons prevent a fixed rusting. Further the pistons of other manufacturers are equipped with only one sealing ring, these seal the brake fluid outward. The K-Sport forging brake pistons are equipped with two seals. The internal sealing ring serves the brake fluid (the system keeps close) for sealing, the outside sealing ring prevents the penetration and a determining of dirt.
This building method is most innovative and compact. Conventional dust shield seals are useless with K-Sport brake calipers.
Got a set waiting to go on mine. Just need the time to fit them.
