To make it simple for you

start at the front edge of the front bumper and end at the back edge of the rear bumper

Anything in between these areas will let you down and cost you shit loads of money

I know i own one

are you being serious?

i've had both sports and vogues and had nothing but bother with the sports, electrical being one of them, also the suspension on the sport or vogues like to play up sometimes

dont think you have much to worry about with the 4.4 engine mate, they're pretty bullet proof a think.

There's a man that knows what he is talking about

Sports are fucking shocking and shouldn't even be badged as Range Rovers IMHO. Electrical nightmare.

52 Plate with BMW underpinnings is the best of the lot as of 2005 they were BMW architecture with Ford(Jaguar) parts added in and they are all downhill from there frankly.

I worked on Land Rovers for 2 years and the 2002-2004 were best of bunch:

Cooling systems, radiator, header tank and water pump
The odd airbag
The odd alternator
And occasional electrical problem or control unit fault, but nothing that is a common one really.

That's it really. Here is mine, done 60k in it in 2.5 years and I have done a radiator, alternator and servicing and that's it.

Went with a Touareg 2.5 TDI in the end and love it

Not heard alot of good reports about them either TBH, I went to test drive one 2 weeks ago, got in it and realised how crap the interior was (especially the dash), never owned a landrover before and after seeing it up close and sitting in it, i don't want to either, which is a shame as they look cool from the utside.

It was this one here, local to me.

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/uvl...109&distance=0

Liked the seats and the rear interior of the car, I just was let down by the doorcards and dated dash and cheap looking wood effect. the sort of car I'd love to own when new but not 2nd hand, still really like them but i've got a thing about interiors Lol.

Only a HSE mate , low spec car

I also dont like the wood trim as it does look tacky ,

I waited over a year to find the exact spec car i wanted , Black with Grey leather , Full spec with front TV and rear screens ,

And 4,4 V8

Owned one for a couple of years and it was ok apart from:

N/S/F Airbag
Ball-joint
Battery

Didn't think it was too bad although parts were pricy. It was a 52 plate 4.4 Vogue aswell. Think I'd prefer a TDV8 tho.

Sports are not in the same league for refinement IMO.

my mate bought a 52 vogue about six months ago with a warranty, first thing to go wrong was the steering wheel kept going down by its self that was fixed for him, then a air bag went on the suspension wouldnt show on the computer that bill was1600 he had to pay himself as it wasnt on the warranty, then the fuel pump went which again wasnt on the warranty he also had it serviced while it was there 1100 and this was not from a major dealers, its a diesal and still eats it he says.but he loves it so hes not bothered.

Landcruisers are for people that tow fairground rides whilst picking up scrap metal.
