election program on tv tonight
sounds like a load of shit, isnt there a million rules the audience have to follow, no cheering or boo'ing whilst mps are talking, sod that, I'd be calling them all a bunch of robbing cunts, one big set of useless idiots with blinkers on to the real state this country is in.

The BNP have refused to take part in the forthcoming televised debates on the grounds that over 80% of their supporters are unable to spell BNP, so would not recognise who was who on TV. There were also clashes in scheduling for the repeats as the debate would be on at the same time as Jeremy Kyle.
We are assured on election day that the ballot cards will have little pictures next to candidate names to help BNP voters. Next to Nick Griffin's name will simply be a picture of a vagina.

Nick clegg lives in clould cuckoo land!
David Cameron was as false as ever and CLEARLY hiding the fact they will tear us all a new arsehole in cuts and taxes, and was totally fucked when Brown questioned him over Police, schools and NHS etc....as he cant say hes not goijg to make cuts there as he will do!
Gordon Brown was making lots of sense tonight about not hurting the recovery now, and in not so many word admited we WILL pay for it later - Which makes sense - pay for it when the economy is stable! Question is will he deliver!
IMO, 1 nil nil to brown tonight.

I agree, looking a each cunts paper work, brown looks good, fucking hate to admit it, I will not be voting the blues, and these people suggesting BNP please it seems to suggest that 70% of people on this fourm are total fucktards.
Just watched the news after. Brown came last in the polls which i expected as people are after some blood, but he did a lot better than i expected! Think it was obvious clegg would win as hes nothing to lose and can tell everyone what they want to hear.
Think the polls suggesed people are wanting change but not really the twat tories so went for Clegg, but in reality would they vote for him? Not sure!

I couldn't be bothered listening to them tell us what they would promise to do in huge areas of our lives that they won't actually control as they are devolved responsibilities. NHS, Police, Education. None of these three candidates has the slightest control of these outside the English border but so far as I can tell, not one of them bothered to mention that fact.
IMO they should never have allowed these to be broadcast in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland - I'm sure the Representation Of The People Act or some such makes the broadcasts technically illegal.

I for one dont give a rats arese about the debt, but some people seem to have their heads well and truly fixated on it!
Have Labour really fucked the country though thats the thing? Yes were in mass debt, but we needed to get into debt to spend on the shite that the tories left us with - Shite schooling, shite NHS, shite public services....all of which are better especially the NHS.

Load of shite, it matter little who you vote for , one one area they will do well, in others they will make a big mess.
Your best bet is to see who offers to do something that makes a difference to you and hope they don't completely fek the rest up.

HAVE THEY?

:t iff:

Thought the programme was good actually and I have to agree - with the public at large - Clegg came out on top of that one.
Brown was, frankly, rubbish.
Did anyone else notice Cameron stopping Clegg from joining Brown going to the audience at the end?
Thouhgt it looked like Clegg was Cameron's bitch due to the way he just beckoned Clegg and made him stop in full stride!

Better in some respects, but certainly not in others.
The problem in my eyes seems to be that under both Blair and Brown, the government seemed to think they could cure all the problems in public services by hurling billions at them. Sadly, huge amounts of that money is just waited on 71 layers of bullshit before it reaches the frontline. They may have increased public spending, but the direction of that spending has been way off in my opinion.
Anyway, on the subject of the debate itself, I found it quite interesting overall. I think there were far too many rules really, and would have preferred to see it take more of a Question Time format, but the fact it happened at all is an achievement in itself, so it's progress.
On particular performances, I thought Clegg was quite impressive. I always found him to be a bit of a nothing-man, he had very little about him. But I think he did a lot to change people's opinions of him. Whether there is any real substance in his message is a different matter, but he came across reasonably well I thought. Though he didn't have nearly as much to lose as the other two.
Cameron was slightly disappointing at times I felt. He did do well on some issues, but not so well on others. He didn't seem to rise to some of the accusations which was good, but did let himself descend into the same thing at times. I don't think he will have hurt the campaign at all, but equally, I don't think he will have done a great amount to improve the standings particularly.
As for Brown; I found him disappointing, but that was no surprise. He was quite obviously way outside his comfort zone in that position. Labour seem desperate to portray him as being more 'human' but it just isn't working. I think the forced smiles and things are just making it worse for them if anything. He made some points well, he can be a good speaker, but really, my lasting impression of his performance, was constant jibes and cheap shots at Cameron and an awful lot of arse-kissing towards Nick Clegg.
I think Brown definately came out in third place. I just don't think people will warm to him. He's no Blair, none of them are, but he's got a hard job selling himself when they're all trying so hard to look and sound the part. Unfortunate for him in a campaign which seems more like a presidential election than a party political election.
I certainly don't have any more incination to vote Labour than I did before the debate, but I can't say it swayed me greatly in any direction. Though I can't say the idea of spending your way out of debt seems quite right; it certainly wouldn't work for me. The NI debate has things for and against, both compelling in their own way, but I think Labour are going to have a hard battle selling something that people won't generally want, despite their intentions. And I think the Tory arguement about them letting waste continue for the remainder of the financial year may hurt them a little if the Tories can take advantage of it. Interestingly, Brown apparently quoted some figures on immigration and things that he'd been rebuked for previously. If that's true, I'm surprised more hasn't been made of it, though I've not seen much of the news today.
I look forward to the next one regardless. It will be interesting to see if they keep the format so strict after all people's reservations on it, and to see if Clegg can continue to be strong in further debates. I do wonder if they'll change their tact slightly, as immediate polls showed that people didn't like the jibes they were making at each other.

brown just loves to tax fucking everything, and i mean before the debt - and where has all this cash gone as it certainly hasnt all gone to the nhs, police, army, schools etc...
I can't stand that weird thing Brown does with his mouth/bottom jaw.
I think Cameron is a smug git.
Nick Clegg actually answered the questions, was honest and had some reasonable ideas. The idea of regionalising the number of immigrants able to take jobs was interesting [although obviously flawed]. But it should secure votes from those who agree with parts of the BNP's manifesto but can't bring themselves to waste their vote on them.
I just don't see Nick Clegg as being particularly Priministerial though. He lacks the gravitas. It's going to be interesting to see how he gets on with the next debate on foreign affairs as that imo is the acid test for any primister, to see how they will act on the world stage.
Regardless of what people think of Brown, he is a good speaker and an excellent economist [regardless of the state of the economy, he knows his stuff] so I genuinely can't see him not coming out on top in the last debate. There'll be bickering and jibes from Cameron but I'm fairly certain Clegg will be playing off his weak foot when we get to the last one.
And in a serious answer to the BNP masses and those from Scotland and Wales griping about not being represented... the population of Scotland is 5-6 million, the population of Wales is about 3 million, the population of England is over 50 million.
The debates are representative of the population and the majority of votes. BNP, Green party etc. will win votes and seats but that's more regional, not imo topics and input that we need for NATIONAL debates.

and has become more smug since the opinion polls have swayed his way over the last 12 months...He should concentrate on his own parties poicies etc rather than constantly having a god at brown! Hes become a tad fixated!
