hi was just wondering can a escort mk1 have the pinto engine and gearbox (t9) converted without changing gearbox tunnel

You will get away with on a auto box car (bigger tunnel) but not a normal manual. You can buy the adaptor plate from Retro Ford to space the tunnel up if it does need spacing.
