Default Quick decorating question

Silicone sealant or caulk round the window frames ( upvc) after decorating?

I hate silicone sealant and was wondering if I could get away with using caulk?

Same sort of stuff is available from screw fix 'no nonsense gap filling caulk' or something like that - pretty cheap and easy to work with.

Yeah thanks guys, looked into it a bit now and plaster to upvc can use caulk no probs, upvc to upvc needs silicone so I can get away with caulk for what I want

Wish i'd have thought about it sooner, rest of the house is silicone

if caulk is not painted over and left it will stain and discolour within 6 months and wont clean up as new

where as silicone will last longer and when it stains/ages it can be made good as new with a solvent cleaner or nail varnish remover

food for thought

Don't do this, it's the wrong thing to do. No paint likes silicone!
