Stone Chip Protector Film

Hi,
I've heard that there is some type of protector film that companies can apply to your bonnet, wings and bumper to protect it against stone chips. I think on E46 M3's and Mk1 Focus RS's these were perhaps an option.
I'm getting my car detailed soon, and was thinking of getting this film applied afterwards.
Does anyone know more about this film at all? Who applies it? Is it any good? How durable is it? How much does it cost?
Thanks,
Agar

its called venture sheild, its a optically clear self adhesive rubber film,
i use it to do cars bikes etc, very good, if you phone a 3m dealer, they will give you the closest fitter, or try a porsche or ferrari garage as thats who i do it for.
you could try yourself, but its not easy, but with practise and patiance, youll get there

Cheers guys - found out that it can sometimes cost as much as Ł500 for bonnet, wings and bumper protection
. A bit more than I was expecting.

Try this stuff, got it on my RS. Most is DIY, only the bumper is a pro job.
