Default Took the Cossie for a spin....

Well i havent had the car out since October and i taxed it on Thursday. But the weather bein the weather i havent had chance to give it a blast. Anyhow i went out for a litle spin tonight and the only thing thats stopped workin is the heater fan .

Other than that she ran fine-even catching, and passing an E46 M3 at, ahem 70mph officer

just thought i would share this with you!

i've had mine out the garage all weekend so far (not at night obviously it's scared of the dark) absolutely loving it, took it to tesco yesterday and to a pub/wacky warehouse thing earlier so that's 2 car parks in 2 days, i'm just about stopping the nervous sweats now! it's driving so much nicer for being used and the god awfull tappy tappets are finally starting to shut up!

Possibly the front camshaft bearings?

Ha a similar noise on mine a couple of years back that i thought was the alternator, turned out it was the cam bearings.

Take the belt off and run it, see if the noise is still there or not

Also parked up, and went to start car and it was dead, car has been stood for winter and just jumped it so i was thinking it might be the battery not having charge and the alternator doing overtime to charge it ? Also only does it under load while driving, wont do it on tickover. Also had to get a jump start off a scooby, imagine the embarassment ffs lol

Hit a pothole or two and the heater fan will start working again. Just got a bit of damp inside it i expect and its siezed slightly. Or whip it out and turn it by had to free it off!

If the noise is there when the car is stationery i would take the alternator belt off then try it again. Whiste the belts off u could see or feel if the bearing in the alternator it worn/noisey.
