Default Couple of Focus ST Questions...

Hi guys, just got my Focus ST. Just a few questions to ask that I cant really find any definite answers to on the net.

1.) Service intervals... There is a sticker in the door saying '1st Service 5 years or 125,000 miles'. Surely this is wrong?

2.) Cambelt renewal...

3.) Any common problems I should check now before I find out the hard way...

Thanks in advance

Service intervals are 12,500 miles mate or 12 months

I'm sure the cambelt is 100,000 or 10 years

and the st uses proven mechanics so i dont think theres anything major to worry about

Hope this helps

It is 100k but for piece of mind i would get it done asap if you have just bought the car, you never know with cambelts

As for the oil im not sure it may tell you in the hand book, but give ford a call and they will tell you.

Oil grade to be used in the ST is 5W30. The cam belt change is 100k but i know that several STOC members have changed theirs at approx 60k certainly when i had the ST170 mine was done at 60K. As for the sony hu the load button should be next to the cd slot

as for problems, 07 plate cars seem to have clutches issues if you take it close to 300bhp.
early cars had problems with driveshaft cv joins, oil filter housing diaphragms split, alternators will go anywhere upto 40k.

there stereo may only be a single cd unit?

Well as for the stereo from what I can see in the manual they dont mention anything about a single cd unit. And also the screen has the picture of 6 discs. As for the screen it glows red so not sure what you mean by black. There is no load button. it has eject on one side and AST on the other.

Not looking at modding it (yet) so clutch should be ok then. Going to service it next week. R5Ford - they got about half the tread so guessing it should get me through a couple more months i hope LOL

Are the other problems mentioned deopending on the year (you say early models). Will I be affected.

Many Thanks for all the help guys
