What is it with folk selling stuff these days
#42
it is not greed just the seller wanting what he can get for HIS items there are lots of folk trying to get things a lot cheaper ,when i place things on ebay the auction runs until the end no matter what that is why it is a auction if i had a set price i would place it on auto trader

You can't complain, I 100% Think you would be the first to moan if you were the current winning bidder and he sold it outside of the auction. But if you want it so much, stick a bid on it? You might get it for far less than you were willing to pay.
I won my mountain bike, a very nice Scott for £500 after the guy refused to take less than £750 as an outside offer. He was less than impressed, and even emailed me saying I could have it for £600 an hour before it ended

Says the man who was moaning the other day about the new for sale rules on the RSOC bb , LOL,
Expecting to know where somthing is , how much it is , and being able to contact the seller is IMO basic things you need or trying to buy somthing can get very fustrating ( as you have found out )

people act different when your standing in front of them and thay can smell the cash id just turn up with the green and just see of course its a risk of being a waste of time but i all ways try this tactic ive just brought a 08 black focus st3 from a ford dealer now at first the price was more than i would pay but i played it crafty took mrs laptop and dongle to the ford chap along with 14,000 in a holdall got on the forecourt and said look m8 your after 16000 but how many can buy a car for that when people havnt got over the credit crunch thay would struggle to get finance and u know it so i said give you 14000 cash now to witch he said you must be having a laugh with it i got laptop and bag and proceeded to show him st s from dealers on the web at the same price i said look m8 i can go and get else ware it dont matter to me he was not gonna budge so got laptop bag and walked off as walking off pretended to call another dealer as soon as i said im ringin about the st he sprinted across the forcourt as he realised that a nice chunk of comission was about to drive off i even do it with holidays ill go in travel agents and first thing show them the green and say theres x amount here what you got and at first thay give you a crap choice soon as you say right m8 ill try some place else thay come round

I see EBAY as a place to advertise stuff and will always sell off EBAY if possible, mainly due to the fees from Paypal and EBAY.
If i sell an item for £400 off EBAY I will pay under £5 in fees depending on listing type. If I sell it for £400 on EBAY and get paid by Paypal I loose around £60 in fees. Being greedy, but as stated above nothing wrong with wanting top price for your items.
