need to change my gearbox in my 1.4 escort 1998 ive got a turbo diesel box will this fit straight in and work only im skint so need to use this as i have it hanging around will my clutch work on there and will the drive shafts fit straight in some have said it will slow the car down but how much i would have thought that it would be somewhat the same as the turbo diesel only has 75 bhp the same as the 1.4 please can i have some instructions please

Take the old box out and have a look at mounting points etc I think it would be the same

It may fit depending on the mountings and also if it uses the same clutch arm, some were welded and others were bolted. The drive shafts are a straight fit.

The gearing will be totally diffrent as the diesel creates its power lower down in the rev range and hence does not need to have the gearing for high rev power.
