Default Why does everyone hate fwd??

I mean most ppl on say front wheel is 4 the feeble and rubbish at gettin the power down ect. Surly the safe option of 4wd is for the feeble and rwd is just plain dangerous in anything other than the dry when Ur pushing hard. Not to mention the power losses from the tranmission on 4wd and rwd. On a b road blast my focus and would many other fwd keeps up wiv rwd cars sum of them much more powerful than my little 160bhp. Lol not really a rant just wanna know y everyone hates fwd.

I like FWD ..

Far more practical than RWD for normal driving in the crappy weather here.

FWD = Crashing Forwards (Understeer)
RWD = Crashing Backwards (Oversteer)
4WD = Crashing Faster (Think you're a better driver than you really are)

I love RWD and wouldn't have it any otherway just the driving style I prefer.

I think true petrol heads appreciate the merits of all the systems, dependant on car and situation. RWD blinded folk tend to have 'something to prove syndrome', short, small willies etc...

much above 220bhp fwd isnt ideal just spins up. the idea of steering, braking and accelerating with the same two tyres isnt the best setup when u have 4 wheels
fwd isnt as fun and i prefer workin on cars that have the engine mounted longitudinaly
i dont really mind driving fwd cars but prefer rwd/4x4 cars.

depends on car situation entirely and when the car is most likely to be used

So true, my capri is my penis extention :P

I like both rwd and fwd, never really driven 4x4 so cant comment fairly on that. Rwd for fun, fwd for predictability x

I drive fwd, rwd and 4wd, I prefer rwd, but don't dislike fwd, fwd seems easier to go fast and just somehow seems easier all round, still prefer rwd though, though not in the snow, rain is no problem with rwd, even going fast.

i think its just what youre into ive always been fwd and have no problem with understeer etc as you learn to handle it, with just over 200 bhp i can smoke my mates stage 3 rwd saff round the back lanes as he dare not put the power down as he will end up backwards in a hedge and he aint no pussy driver so each drive has its disadvantages.4X4 has transmission losses more weight so none are perfect really.

Plus cosworth is god on here and as they didnt make a fwd it means all fwd are shit

A big power car with FWD is pretty pointless really, however my ST is lightly tuned, its within the region on 260-270bhp/330lbft, and the FWD chassis handles it just fine.

And it will happily oversteer, provoke it with a little flick and away it goes!

Advanced technology really. Stick my engine in an old escort and I'm sure the handling would be interesting to say the least!
