General Car Related Discussion. To discuss anything that is related to cars and automotive technology that doesnt naturally fit into another forum catagory.
you can send me links, or pages of info till the proverbial bovines return home, we both know it was nothing to do with the technicalities that I chose to reply to, and not just ignore, your comments.
I enjoy the banter and piss taking as much as anyone else, but to just laugh at someone "you" think is wrong, without having the Right answer Yourself is at best, childish.
Just ask yourself a simple question, "in what way did my contribution to this thread help?"
I think you'll find I did have the exact answer. A research paper ratified by general motors defining exactly why castor has nowt to do with unsteered wheels. Unless you missed it. Also I have hopefully given some folks some information they might not necessarily have known and I had a laugh at a forum joke.
On a 3dr Sierra 2wd I shimed it to take out toe & take out too much camber to get good traction in a straight line as its lowered alot. What camber is best for the rear for trackdays
IAN
When you shim for camber and toe on a standard beam, you only correct this at the static height the car is set at, so although this helps while the car is not "squatting" in normal straight line driving, the car will still suffer from bump steer on the rear with suspension travel, due to the inherent poor design. The only cure is a proper rear beam.
