Not sure if you can take it to places for repairs, but you can drive it to a pre book mot station and pretty sure you can drive it back - make sure you have the fail slip.

if you were to say, book it in for an mot at joe bloggs mot station but in reality take it to a repair garage, you could if you were stopped still be taking it to the joe bloggs mot station , if not stopped take it to the repair garage if you follow me then give some bull about forgetting the mot apointment, that way you have the best of both worlds for what ever the outcome

if its booke din yes drive it with out tax/mot aslong as its booked in
if it fails either leave it to get repaired if you remove the vehicle it has to be driven straight to a place of repair or home and when its retest time make sure its booked in incase you get stopped for no tax/mot and you can prove its going for a retest when they follow you/ring up to the test station

think he is saying book an appointment with an mot station with the intention of never going, instead your going to drive it to a place of repair, so if stopped you are booked in, and they dont know you weren't going to go there.
Just make sure it is booked in and insured and your fine, if I needed to take a car to be repaired, i would have someone follow you and make sure it was somewhere very local so it was minimal risk - still a risk though.

i have asked this before and im sure its ok to take it for mot as long as its booked and the motor has insurance but if it has no tax the police can take the car off you if they pull you im 90% on this even if you are taking it for mot.

Driving an untaxed vehicle to an MOT test
You can drive your vehicle to and from a pre-arranged test at an MOT test station as long as you have adequate insurance cover in place for the use of that vehicle.
This is also for vehicles being driven to and from a pre-arranged test at a Vehicle Inspection Check (VIC) test station, an approved weight testing station and reduced pollution test.

You cant get points if you have no tax or test but as said you can drive the vehilce if booked in for an mot and it has to be insured.I had a fine for no tax from a traffic warden (got reported) sitting in traffic.I was on my way home from a pre booked test. The fine was dismissed I wasnt really driving around,ah actually I was coming off a filling station.

the thing is if the twats do pull you and take it off you you have to go and get the fucker back and it costs money for a trailer and later on a fine thats what they did to me for no tax.

chicken and egg ain't it but you can't get tax with no mot so can't see how they can do you for that. Defo car must be booked in for mot so there must be a tax loop hole for this

You can manage the tax tho if its due before the MOT therefore in police eyes, you,,ve not complied etc etc , unless you buy the car like this, but even then they would just say use a trailor bla bla......... Hopefully a GOOD policeman would see common sense its potluck.
I,d ring them too then you got no come backs. Takes officers name!!

No mot is non endorsable and so tax.Fines only,I have been in court for no test because I had forgotton about the test expiry date.It was thrown out of court anyway. As long as you have contact details in transit of the test centre and the plod can check through the phone you should not have the car taken off you even if its a roadside check.

Yes its supposed to be
There usually the ones that cost you Ł200 for a minor repair, not the one your mate works at
I always want a real test but I would rather be told what needs doing so I know what to do if I have missed something (without having a failure sheet).
