Great idea, wonder where it will stop though.

Next they start seizing houses and using them for hard up coppers to doss down in, then they start seizing the drugs and using that, and before you know it they will be seizing all the ho's and pimping them out too

I totally agree with confiscation orders from proceeds of crime, and what ever is taken going back to the local community, although a clever criminal would have the their possessions on finance so it can't be confiscated.

Its a great idea in theory, but pretty pointless if they are only using it for 4 months.
Why not just keep it, save the taxpayer coughing up for another flash plod car.

Bit pointless, slower on the road than pursuit cars, and can't go off-road where pursuit cars would struggle...

While what you are saying is of course true, you missed the fact that it "looks pimp as fuck" which is the key criteria for a police car surely?

I would think that mister criminal wouldn't give a toss to be honest cos if he's made enought to buy one of those then he won't be too hard up .

Most of his money won't be sitting in a high interest tsb account , it'll be off shore where the plod cant find it .

As they say once bitten .

And like said the green brigade and the 4x4 anti's wont like them driving that around .

just keep taking thier cars and turning them into patrol cars. Sure a Q7 aint that quick but its better than the usual astra diesel or focus patrol car.

they should take it one step further and drive round estates daily with a ANPR set up on a smart car like the google cam car and note address for cars with no insurance, no tax, etc and then send round a fleet of car transporters Do it to the rough poor areas in a city and the streets will be empty of cars I remember the traffic cops saying that the council estates in sheffield had on average 40% of cars on the street with no tax or insurance!!

that would teach the criminal fuckers a lesson.

Same with gyppos who havent got the right documents, take thier posh new cars and put them on a new pikey taskforce!!!!

Why don't they auction the legitimate items off to pay for suitable cars and what ever else they need? Am I right in thinking they do this in America?

surely if they seized a car like that from a dealer, then drove it around unmarked and with plain clothed drivers, they would catch loads of people out.
how many people would recognise the motor and not know they were old bill.
could go places other cop cars couldnt.
