i hope it all turns out ok for you all in the end. I think your whole family have been through alot with what happened to your dog. I hope your puppy will be ok. It will no doubt take ages for him to get back to how he was.

He is back home, bald as a coot, needs staples removing in 12 days time, and he seems ok -
went for me as soon as i got hold of him, hoping its just a temporary measure the vet said hes probably nervous of me hurting him from when i picked him up after the accident, so ive muzzled him to go to toilet.
He can stand up temporarily, so toileting shouldnt be too difficult, he needs 4 weeks of cage rest to repair completely.
I need to go to work now, so Lee will update with a pic later.
thanks

Just an update from me, Murphy is no longer going for me when toileting - ive stopped using the muzzle completely now, i feel confident with him and he obviously isnt in as much pain as he was.
Hes generally fed up being in his cage, he looks so sad! But hes going out of it for toilet and can stand for a short period of time, hes hopping on 3 legs if he tries to walk ( but hes not allowed to do this yet anyway!)
Back to vets in 10 days to have staples removed from his hip, then back to see specialist in a month for xrays to see how hes healed.
Here are a few pictures.... he has brindle skin which looks really strange!
Thanks to everyone who is concerned about him and those of you who helped pay to fix him!

just wanted to update you, its been 12 days since his op, and hes had his staples removed today, scar is healing nicely, he looks like hes a bit twisted spine wise, but they said thats quite normal and his hips will gradually be aligned once he is healed, has slight nerve damage in right paw and they expect that to fully return over the coming weeks.
He seems quite settled at minute, thoroughly fed up of his cage i think, as has now found his bark again ( and cry!) and is crying a bit when anyone comes into the house, he just wants some attention.
Seems to be quite happy and is starting to put his leg down when toileting which he couldnt do a few days ago.
Will continually update this thread as he mends, and will get some pics! His bald patch is growing back now and he doesnt look as funny
