I've got a private plate on my car, which i'm selling

What form do I need to put it on retention, is it the V317?

Also do I have to fill in another form to get the old number assigned back to the car or will that happen automatically from the V317?

not sure as i usually go down into the local dvla office and pay 105 quid for the pleasure

the old plate should go back automaticaly remember you need to renew the retention yearly or they take your plate of you
