Grrr there is no such fucking thing!!!!

There were recalls and updates to the cars but certainly not phase 1 or 2.

What you'd refer to would be:

1. Stitching of seat bases to stop sagging
2. Pink throttle cable gromit in engine bay which was changed to stop vibration. (New is pink)
3. Different fuel map. AF replaced AE but you wouldnt really know.
4. newer onew had a sticker round the start button to direct thick people.

All in fantastic cars.

Check how gear change and clutch feel. Clutch is about 1k to change. Gear cables get slack and notchy.
Check round the thermostat and on top of the gearebox for coolant. Seal in thermostat goes or housing cracks.
Bushes can go at higher miles.
Timing belt is 100k miles but check for it done circa 50 if that high.

hes a bit pricey up there and very arrogant with it, i tried knocking him down a few quid and he just simply told me to piss off, when i say a few quid, it was just a £100 or so to make the deal a bit more tempting for me, i walked away in the end (due to his arrogance) and i had the money on me at the time to do the deal there and then.

They are pretty well respected selling Mk1 FRS's. Ask Tim Butch on here who got one last week. They always have about 10 in stock too so take your pick!

reet, bit of news, went down with the intensions of bringing 1 of the 2 home, didnt happen somthin went wrong with my mates finance & mark i think the guy was called wouldnt sort it till monday which i supose is fair enough tbh... the car i looked at was mechanicly sound only had scorpion catback on it other wise standard but when i asked why the car had been painted they said it hadnt i told them it blatently had as no stone chips at all on front bumper or rear arches showed them in comparison with another 53 plate that had the armur guard or whatever its called on the rear arches & it should have atleast 1 stone chip from use, then i looked under front bumper nd the masking tape was still on the black plastic drop down bit, the front fog soround were blue & after getting my fingers into rear arches ther was definetly bodge im posative, also any frs guys on here is your boot floor the exact same clour as your car? as in is it shiney as fook blue or dull like un lacerd blue? i checked 3 boot floors n neither were the same

cheers nic

i looked over most of em when i was down there i was happy with mine but it done 15k thats all the cheaper ones were good for the money but check them over he has some niceish cheapo ones just depends what your after tbh you always get good and bad stories everywhere but they were fine with me .
as for boot i think its flat not shiney but could be wrong only looked in there once lol
the 1 inside with the extras on was well woth the money just too many miles for me was about 12k i think had carbon bits on etc manifold and stuff but i wanted a standard car.
you do not want the af map its shit and has a lean spot missfire at 4k ish the ae map is lots better i had mine changed back from the af map ands its sweet.
otherwise as chop said above

fair enough majority of focus rs,s will have had paint work due to chips etc...

but i would,nt even waste my time going to view a car in that place my pals went down once with enough money to buy any escort cossie in the place and were in and out in no time as they said every car had previous paint work and to a very bad standard

in there opinion everything was fannied up to sell

that is blatently obvius, even down to the rear callipers had been cheaply lashed over in silver to look good, they didnt even take the pads out to paint them, the one i was most interested in though i was realy brassed of when they said it hadnt had paintwork, the masking tape was still there & the bodge in the o/s/r arche was obvius when you got down n checked the arche lines. ther was 1 other wich i was half interested in befor i went t view but after checking 3 over i didnt bother with it..

cheers nic

Doesn't sound that great there then tbh from what you've said mate.....if they can tell a bare faced lie about whether or not a car has had paint i dunno if i'd trust them with much else lol!

I've been there before , once to look at a car , which was a long long time ago and another time to buy one but the bloke is an out and out arrogant prick who i saw both times , its like he's got too much money and not bothered about selling .

They did paint the one we had but we saw it before and after and i think they did a good job , well his body shop man did .

Personally i'd never step foot in the place again even if they had my dream car as there's always another one going to come along .

Each to there own i guess

I've been twice, and both times not one single car there looked like a good genuine car...well except one, they had a white escos in with something like 500 miles on it! It was when FRS mk1s were new so they didn't have them in, but loads of Escos' and RST's etc. All had dodgy paint on them somewhere. I dont mind cars having paint, as long as its done right. One of the aubergine Escos' looked like the bonnet had been painted on a building site there was that much dust in it! It was quite a shocker, as at the time i was looking for my first Escos, and i never thought there was so many bad ones out there! And the dusty bonnet aubergine one was about 18k :cry

My Saph came from jct28. Had no problems with them, or the car for that matter, and i still got it 4 years on.

Sure it was Ben i dealt with. Deffo a different guy from mentioned above, as he was easy to deal with.
Every garage has good and bad rep depending who you speak to, just your luck really.

Dont understand why the guy didnt just tell you it had paint tho. Not uncommon on a 60k, 7 year old car. Just makes people even more suspicous, once you've been lied to.
