Fookin hell, the merc isn't shy with 600/600! 
I presume they are supercharged? (know feck all about them)
If you can then an M5 is a great 'every day' car I guess lol, I'd probably be more tempted to get something like a tricked out 535d sport so it wouldn't be too similar in performance to the merc.. at least that way you'll want to pull the merc out at weekends. Could see the old scenario of never using the merc because the M5 goes like fook anyway.
I do a similar thing (although on a much more 'porper' scale
) I have an STI classic impreza for every day and an Evo 6 for weekends. I hardly ever use the Evo because the STI is 95% as good and I end up thinking "no, can't be bothered I'll just use the STI as it's on the drive waiting"
