nope..
2 litre block has siamesed bore castings to allow room for the additional 5mm of bore diameter, 1.8L block hasn't, there's just not enough bore thickness to allow that much overbore.

there was a post about the a few years ago, somink to do with the side walls on a 1.8 are alot thinner if ya do

think its proved cause ya gotta weld a bit of extra ally on the cvh head to fot a 2.0 zetec bottom end but on a 1.8 ya dont have to

hope that helps, oh and 2.0 zetec engines are fooking cheep anyway tbh , i can get a compelate one for 200 quid

Alright Greg, as Rich quiet rightly pointed out, you cant use 2ltr sized pistons.

Assuming a ZVH, on a 1.8 bottom end, STD zetec pistons give about 8.3:1.

Skim them 40thou gives about 7.8:1

Im not sure what id do now on a 1.8.......waste of money using propper poistons, id do a 2ltr if you want a PROPPER zvh .

Maybe look at using a decompression plate? Theyre wank IMO, but people seem to sue them and get on ok!.

Personally if its just a cheerfull build I'd use a Ferriday plate. (Copper). I skimmed my 1,8 pistons 40thou.

Reminds me actually im gunna put my old 1.8zvh block on ebay...

Big Wig..
If you go ZVH, at 8.3:1 compression you shouldn't have a problem IMO. The (relatively weak cast) pistons will be stronger left as they are, and I can't see the benefit of reducing the CR further.. 15psi or so boost should see you to 200bhp.
