But the webcam feature doesn't work for me when I tried to load it up.
GOOD link for HD duel locking tape,to place the cam on the car where you want
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
that's disappointing - i wanted to use mine like that both on bikes and when skiing and connected to a proporta battery pack for extra life
tried mine on the way home from work. screwed the holder to the dash.
couple of questions
how do you use it as a web cam like it says if you cant record when its plugged in and how do you change the date and time on the display?
there is no instructions in the box or on the disc.

Should be a file called "MINI DV D001 Manua.doc" on the cd.
Copied & pasted for you...
There is a file in the attached disk,it is for time synchronization, pls copy this file to the TF card, and connect it with the PC,the native machines time will synchronously change the time the same as the PC.
The detailed usage is as follows:
1. Build a text file, put TAG.TXT as it is name.
2. Open the Tag.TXT file, according to the attachments form, write the requested synchronization time.
The detailed form is as follow:
[date] <blank and newline is needed>
2009/07/22 <blank and newline is needed>
12:00:00
CHKDSK is verifying the TAG.TXT file everytime when you boot-strap.and according to the tiem,it will set system time.after setting the system time, the TAG.TXT file will be delete automatically.

Prob best not to put time and date on as it cant be removed or im not aware it can be.
It looks silly when you edit the clips, unless you use fancy editing software that will cut the whole lower part of the clip off.

For others who want to use it as a webcam with the USB cable plugged in - press the 'MODE' button, wait for the drivers to be picked up & installed. Then it will work.
Just got mine through too.....i'm not great with computers etc so looks like i may have fun trying to get it all to work, no instructions or idiots guide either
Very small though and handy coming with the various brackets so for the money can't complain!

As i have a crappy old cam like this, it wont do video if pluged into a pc and charging, but will happly record video when charging via a mains plug to mini usb or cig socket to mini usb

the file needs to contain the following text if you were going to switch it on now:
[date]
2010/03/04
21:01:03
eject the card from your pc (or camera if you hooked that up to usb, and switch it off) and then, with the card in the camera, switch it on. the date and time will be updated.
actually, i've just looked and there is no manual on my disc, only drivers and codecs. looks like tsutton might have an electronic manual that he might be able to email you or something though
Just tried mine out and it seems to work alright, though as you can imagine it dosnt pick up the light that great down a country lane at night. Sound quality seems decent enough though and cant really moan after what I paid for it.
No printed manual in the box for mine (british seller too), have got a disc with it yes but would have liked a paper manual tbh lol! Haven't put the disc in the computer yet but reading another reply it looks as though it may not have a manual included anyway? Oh well it was only cheap and there's a only a few buttons on the camera ha!
cant get the vid on youtube> done a test put it on my pc then tried to upload on youtube and comes up saying error user cancelled upload as soon as i press upload.. could be seeing the bin I need it easy as I am shit with computers

If you decides to bin it, send it to me and I'll make a good use of it.
Button on the top is a bit awkward to press when its mounted in the car as you have to push it so hard it moves the mount about.
Basically as you would expect it feels cheap and I wouldnt bother for a trackday probably when for not much more money you can get a so much easier to use camera with a screen to preview where its pointing etc, but its a great little gimmick and it really is very small and the vidoes are quite good quality.
Great as a spare though
Agreed that button on top is a pain in the RS.
This is my vid with the camera attatched to the bottom of the rear view mirror. Youtube and windows movie maker has slaughtered the quality of picture.

Will take some more interesting stuff when I go for a blat through wales in a couple weeks

Nope!
Nope you can't. But you can remove it by using a video editor i.e.
VirtualDub - http://www.virtualdub.org/
and Logoaway - http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...Logoaway.shtml
An exampe video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw0Bl4bIvGk
can you get rid of the annoying time and date in the bottom of the pic??

CD for the drivers isnt working, says something about a runtime error for the installer.
