Spoke to Chip breifly earlier, some alternator issues with his track car Clio I think. Hope he managed to sort them, it was around noon-ish today when we spoke.

Looking forward to the pics and stories, of which there better be some good ones

What a fantastic day! Was a few incidents but didn't stop the days fun.. The Jamsport powered Mk2 Focus RS's was on it today showing a few people what we can do... There was apparently some 400bhp RS's there.. didnt see them going for it though =?

Good day had by all =)

I manged 3 laps and that included me warming the tyres up, before I got the sign " go to pits" to be told, your car is banned as it was 90db on fly by, even though it was 86 static

£50 a lap seems a little over priced for me

the 205 be going there again

Your 205 failed the noise test?

I remember one year I went with the Evo, failed the static but survived half the day on track as the drive bys were ok.

Your Pug was silly quiet like 84 dbs IIRC, can't believe it's now worse than my Evo with a 3" exhaust at full pelt is?

Much as I love Bedford, the noise test thing is a real real pain...

Fucking awesome day out, had a truely brilliant time racing Lee in Helen's 172, the cars were absolutely identical on the straight, and very comparable in the bends, although Lee's intimate knowledge of the track (or more talent?) allowed him a couple of seconds on me per lap (not a lot over 3.8 miles really), but when he did manage to get past, we just chased again the other way around and when he finally started to pull a few car lengths he just dropped in behind me and hunted me down again, was awsome fun being in such evenly matched competition for the whole session, cant remember the last time I had that much fun on track

Only problem all day was the alternator, car was perfect other than that, and I just charged it up between each session so it didnt matter.

Then as it needed a recovery home anyway, was able to have a few beers when we all went out courtesy of Lee, and then slept it off in the truck on the way home.

Absolutely mint day out, by far the most fun ive had in ages

Massive thanks to Lee for dinner and for making my mate's day by taking him out and showing him how much fun it is to stick a DMS tuned 996 turbo through a set of cones backwards

Gutted for spikey, car looked immaculately prepared and im sure it would have been one of the quickest cars there round that circuit, its such a good little package, was really looking forward to getting my doors blown off by him but never got the chance

RAC was called upon then Chip?

Good to see everyone having a good crack on track today, shame Spiky was off for noise.
We tried to get the noise down but the marshall had his mind set on sending him to KwikFit for a standard exhaust

Its only a five mins job to change the alternator but they couldnt find one in time.

Yeah, real shame, its just down the sheer volume of air its swallowing on the TBs and not really a lot he can do about that unless he starts making a "bedford airbox" for it

Spiky - my 172 was similar a couple of years ago @ Bedford, think it got 87db on static, but I got pulled in about 3 times and 'warned' about noise, They couldnt actually pin point it was me as I always seemed to be in a group of cars when the drive by sound meters got triggered - mine was down to induction noise aswell so I started easing off when I went past them!!!

Bummer though!!

Myself, the wife and the old boy had a great weekend, Bedford track is awesome (gutted for spiky tho with the noise issue) took me most of the morning but did get him to drive my pug in the end. Really happy with our pugs and the amount of punishment they can take. Good to meet Chip, Dave, Helen and following Chip in the clio through a few corners seeing how high he could lift a rear wheel, mad as a hatter lol

SteveW, when you say "and the old boy" was that the guy who had the yellow van and yellow 205 and kept helping me out with bits of wire and lending me a volt meter and stuff? If so please pass on my thanks, my day wouldnt have been the same without his assistance!
I didnt get anyone's names so never sure which one of you lot is which!

Yeah my clio looks comedy cornering, you wouldnt never believe from the amount of bodyroll that it would corner as well as well as it does, and if anyone drove it they would think the feel on initial turn in was terrible but once you get the hang of it the speed you can carry through bends it pretty impressive really!

Dont suppose any of you got any video footage from behind me at any point? As ive never seen it from the outside other than still pictures!

Gutted to have missed this but alas constraints on the RS still being mothballed and the old tank needing some TLC ruled it out. SOunds like a good day was had and at least with me not being there I managed to not spin out as I usually manage it at least once when I go.

the noise issue is a real shame.
what happened to the embankment they was building around the track ? and that was 3yrs ago when i was there was meant to be a sound barrier and they could up the sound levels?
