Is it worth getting the 250gb one over the 120gb one?
Can you change the hardrives in them to a larger one, ie 320gb/500gb?

Buy the cheapest one with the smallest hdd drive and then get a 500gb one.
They are really easy to change as Sony deliberately made it easy to do it. Check out youtube.
But get a decent size one when you buy it, because if your like me, you will use it up in no time, especially if you get play TV and it is a bit of a pain backing up all your info before swapping in a bigger one.

I always thought the Oringinal 60GB was the one to get (2nd hand only now) as they used hardware bluray decoding (designted components), not software (computer code)

Well the original 60gb model... which I have
has
Flash memory readers, no other model had these.
4 USB ports not 2
Partially software-based PS2 emulation, where as the new one has no PS2 emulation
SACD playback,
and ability to install Third-party OS
But the new ones have Bravia Sync XMB control... whatever that is

Make sure you have something that is FAT32 formated to backup your PS3 data with. I had a big problem trying to find something big enough to take my data so ended buying another one and am going to data transfer straight across.

The hardest part is removing the micro screws as theses are easy to fuck up
the trick is to use LONG NOSE pliers first on them

To be honest I can't see me using more than 120gb, then again how mch do games store these days?
Mainly use it for Gran Turismo when it comes out and maybe one of these shoot em up games.

Midnight club - 2.1gig
Mercs 2 -2gigs
fight night round 4 - 1.5 gigs.
GTA 4 - 5 gigs
Gran turismo prologue is 7gigs
Then you have save files and game settings which can sometimes be over 100mb each.
It soon adds up. Just buy the cheapest ps3 you can find and whack a bigger hard drive in it. Do some research on the hard drives though. I know people have tried huge sized ones and the ps3 wont read it. Also transfer speed can make a difference so dont buy a budget hard drive.

Thanks for the info, knew games took HDD space, might aswell go for the 120gb one.
If i need another hdd (for space) might try a 300+GB.
Thanks again.

Hi,
Oblivion is an awesome game, it's awesome on the PC, great on the 360, and not so great on the ps3, sure it's still good and I would go ahead and get it, but they cut some stuff out, graphics aren't as good. Other then that I definitely would say it's worth checking out!
