She's pulling your plonker mate. There has never been a proper Lambo cop car in the UK. There's a Gallardo in Italy, well there was, till it got smashed up. The Met police stickered up a Murcielago press car, but it as never used as a cop car.



The Esprit was just a PR stunt too, it wasn't a proper cop car.



There's also been an RS200 all stickered up to look like a cop car



Round where I live they seem to have really random cop cars - I was pulled the other day by an unmarked VW Tiguan!

I don't know for sure, but think that's an urban myth. Afaik it was part of an anti-speeding campaign 'doesn't matter how fast your car is, we'll catch you'.

A very expensive, highly strung two seater with virtually no luggage space wouldn't make for a very sensible cop car.

They've been in Doncaster a lot doing random stop checks with the 9's they've got...one came flying after me one day as the company demo van I was in was showing as no tax and insurance. They look even more evil when they're behind you with the lights going

according to my old man who used to be in the met, ford offered to design some sort of customised sierra type offering which would have included the involvement of cosworth in exchange for exclusive servicing rights (as in at their dealerships, not by police mechanics) but the senior officers deemed it to be

A: too dangerous due to the alleged high power of the car (probably standard yb or something! ) and

B: too expensive to get them serviced under the terms of the proposal

so it never happened.
how accurate that is I don't know, but that's what my old man reckoned was the case back in the 80s
