Default FAO people with own business

Is there any specific etiquette in approaching would-be/new suppliers. The wife is looking to set up a business and we have got to the stage of approaching suppliers and asking for stock lists, prices etc. Or, is it just as easy as ringing up, telling them who you are and what you want to do?.

Many thanks

Absolutely.
Be honest that you are a young business, most suppliers are happy to sell to anyone.
They may not wish to give account facilities to start with, but as a trading relationship builds, then most will offer an account.

Go in and see them if at all possible...

Just take in a card and some headed paper with your company details on and its fine.

After all, they want to make as many sales as possible too!
